Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Where is the Best Place to Get Breakfast in Framingham?

The winner will be chosen using a combination of votes in the poll and reviews on the establishment's Framingham Patch directory listing; and ties will be broken by comments on this article.

This week our Readers' Choice Best of Framingham Patch Contest focuses on breakfast.

Where is the best place to get eggs and bacon? French toast? or a stack of pancakes?

Vote in the poll, tell us more in the comments and don't forget to post a review on your favorite place's Patch listing!

Here are some of our favorite places, but if we're leaving one off of the list, please let us know in the comments and we'll add it. To write a review, click on each business below and it will take you to its Framingham Patch listing.

Voting in the poll below is open until 9 a.m. Friday.

Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Framingham Patch editor, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch. Ties will be broken by whichever business has the most positive comments in the section below. The official rules go into greater detail (Editor's Note: see attached PDF).

We will announce the winner Friday afternoon.

J&M wins hands down, but if you get there after 8:30, especially on the weekends, wear comfortable shoes. The Friendly's on Temple Street is terrific too. Don't take this place for granted, seeing what happened to about 70 other Friendly restaurants lately...

I vote for J&M for their scrumptious breakfast and their welcoming family environment. I drove 90 minutes out of my way to have breakfast their on a trip to Maine last summer after going their for breakfast one time after a Susan G. Komen 3 Day event.

CJ's! They might be new to the ballgame right now, but don't let that fool you. They ressurected an establishement with a passion like no other, The owner didnt just open a place and say "make me money" He is there to listen to what you want, have people working there that love what they do and that shows in the way your treated there and the food there. If you have a love for what you do and the people you serve....you will give top notch service. It shows at CJ's. Like I said brand new and they are hitting a home run! Yes i used the baseball refference for a reason. If you have not gone there. It is worth it for any meal, breakfast lunch dinner or ice cream. Great new breakfast traditon is starting at CJ's!

CJs is awesome, no doubt. But for a little variety, try Carrie Anne's. The homemade donuts are ridiculously good and there are interesting flavors-- maple bacon and peanut butter + jelly are two great ones, but the chocolate filled is my favorite.. My wife was there recently for breakfast and she raved about the Challah french toast. Support local businesses all across town and keep Framingham strong.

This is a close one. While J&M is great and I love their Hawaiian Omelet and Cinnamon Rolls, the wait and the lack of table seating for parties of one can be an issue. That's why Kugel's edges them out for me. Great food (love the French Toast and the Irish Benedict). Plus they take credit cards.

It's a close call between C.J.'s and J&M but I am going with C.J's--the Red Sox decor can't be beat and the prices are better too, Both serve great food but I think C.J's gets the prize for space and accommodations and value. It's a welcome addition to Framingham.

Cj's has 9 and J&M has 6 this week; so according to our official legal rules (see the PDF attached) it is basically a tie at the moment...

J&M is the clear winner here. I can never fail to get a great meal there, from their delicous omlettes to the variety of ridiculously good pancakes and french toast, and I can't leave unless I get an order of their home fries. The staff is friendly and prompt and never leave you feeling "forgotten." They manage to make each person feel like they're part of the family, and the family pictures on the walls and 50s diner theme only add to the atmosphere. J&M is my first choice for breakfast, not just in Framingham, but in any of the surrounding towns!

We're a new create-your-own-meal concept...very different...and the reviews so far have been outstanding! Being a recent visitor to CJ'S I concur with the last post.
J&M's is great too but the long wait keeps me from going there.
I went to CJ'S at 8:30 am, plenty of seats, in and out in an hour at the most.
I refuse to stand in long lines especially In the weather to eat anywhere.
If I can't get in and out in a reasonable time and not wait in long lines I won't go back. The only reason I don't visit CJ'S more often is because it's way out of the way for me. That's why Carries Ann's works better.

I was never a big breakfast-eater, until I started going to J&M. Their food is Real, Homemade, Fresh, and Very Very Tastey. They offer fresh fruits as sides and toppings on pancakes and French toast; they even have vegetarian options with fresh veggies of all types. My boyfriend loves the reesees and oreo pancakes, I love their keilbasa, home made corned beef hash, and their home fries are really addicting, luckily they give you an extremely generous amount. I will continuing supporting J&M not only because of their amazing food and prices, but because their staff is always cheery and caring, even when its a crazy busy weekend. Go J&M !!!!! J&M Diner deserves 10 stars. Not only is their food delicious, but the staff is amazing, (they even remembered me after my first visit). I usually eat there on the weekends, (yes theirs a little bit of a wait, and there's a reason for it,) everyone wants high quality breakfast with high quality and friendly service...and it's worth it!. No matter how busy it can get, the girls do a wonderful job working together in such organized chaos, I call it: a well-oiled machine. Try their spicy buffalo chicken omelet, steak and cheese, western, or even creat your own; they have a variety of meats, cheeses and fresh vegetables, mmmm you can't go wrong. Or even try their thick cut cinnamon raisin bread French toast, or their fancy eggs Benedict with tomatoe and home made hollandaise, mmmmmm. What ever you do chose, its a winner either way. Go J&M!! Thank you for serving me. I will continue supporting you because you deserve to be #1!!!!

J&M have pretty good food but their snobby policies keep me from returning. I sat at a stool and ordered a large meal for myself. While ordering I also attempted to order food to go for my pregnant wife which they completely refused. I asked if instead I could order the food for myself and take what i didn't eat to go. They also refused. Furthermore they have some dirty looking kitchen staff who you can see clearly from the dining area. I won't be returning when Kugel's, CJ's, and (on Sundays) Bella Costa have much better breakfast options and pricing.

I've been to J&M's. They over cook their scramble eggs. Even McDonalds sometimes get their scrambled eggs perfect, then again, sometimes they end up just like J&M's. Scrambled eggs should be fluffy and not rough uniformly.

The Globe Magazine April 1, 2012 had an article about the perfect scrambled eggs, pp 31. That's how to make scrambled eggs. Sometimes at home I do it right.

So that's my input for scrambled eggs for ANY place not just J&M.

J&M did make it into that Globe Magazine 45 best breakfast though, pp 17-27

Joe: Patch has not intention to require these establishments to show proof of their employees.
You can complain about your eggs, but not the employees on this post.

Feel free to comment on illegals when we post an ICE article.

Any more discussion on the status of employees is inappropriate - it would be like asking each employee for their medical records to see if they have a clean bill of health - until there is PROOF otherwise - we are to believe everyone is healthy and UNTIL ICE or police make an arrest; we are to give them establishment the benefit that all are legal employees.
Sorry, if you disagree; but as editor I have final say.

Joe: That is a what if question - as I would tell me daughter?
What if you didn't have to do you homework?
What if you could always have dessert before dinner?

If you file a petition for Town Meeting - I'd be happy to write about it.

If Town Meeting votes to accept the petition or if the town changes its policy - then albeit it would be a fair question; until then you basically have to eat your dinner, follow the rules, and hope for dessert.
