Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: He recently represented Framingham High in the state semi finals in the Poetry Out Loud Competition.

After competing against his class mates at Framingham High, Will earned the chance to represent the school at the state semi-finals.  Although he did not make it to the state finals, he said, " I had an amazing experience learning and reciting the poems (Eating Poetry by Mark Strand and Preludes by T.S. Eliot), and it was an honor to represent Framingham and F.H.S."

Whiz Kid's Key to "Awesomeness: Will is still a very active poet, said his teacher Alison Courchesne. He is currently preparing to compete in the 8th annual Framingham High Poetry Slam.

Will is also attending Berklee College of Music next Fall for a performance major in drums. His band Ethics performed Sunday at Amazing Things Arts Center.

ABOUT THE FRAMINGHAM HIGH POETRY SLAM: A poetry “slam” is a competition between teams of poets, from the class of 2011, who perform their own original work, bringing poetry off the page and onto the stage in a gloves-off, no-holds-barred verbal boxing match with judges chosen randomly from the audience of their peers.  The semi-finals are during school hours tomorrow and Friday.  The finals, sponsored by the Framingham Education Foundation and the Framingham High PTBO, will be held Wednesday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m. at Amazing Things Arts Center in downtown Framingham. The event is open to the public.
