Feeling Stuck? It Might Be a Clogged Chakra!

Heard of the Chakras?  It's not some kind of new age hocus pocus, but an ancient Yogic system of understanding energy in the body.

It's actually very practical -

- Feeling spacey and ungrounded?  Time to work on the root chakra

- Inflexible (in body or mind?)?  The water chakra

- Taking on everyone else's issues?  You may need some work on boundaries around your heart chakra.

In Yoga, we recognize seven energy centers (chakras) in the body that can become blocked by long-held tensions or beliefs.  Practicing Yoga poses that correspond to each chakra can release these blocks and clear the path for Prana (Life-Force Energy) to better circulate throughout the body.

(Chakra is the Sanskrit word for wheel - think of each chakra as a spinning wheel of energy.)

A deficient chakra doesn't receive enough energy.  You may have a sense of being physically and emotionally closed down in the area of a deficient chakra (for example - slumped shoulders if you are depressed - heart chakra receding into your chest.)

An excessive chakra is too overloaded to operate healthfully (for example, if you  have an excessive Throat Chakra, you might talk too much and be unable to listen well.)

We will begin to clear the Chakras with a 7-part series at the Prana Center.  Each class can be taken separately, or take all 7 to clear the entire central chakra channel, charging yourself up to have more positive energy and vitality.

Thanks, Roberta, for breaking down the concept of chakras into a logical easy-to-inderstand definition!
