More than two dozen U9 and U10 girls and boys games were played Saturday afternoon at field near Loring Arena and Keefe Tech School. Those games were just some of the scores of games played throughout Framingham Saturday and Sunday as part of the 30th Annual Memorial Day Classic Soccer Tournament. Framingham Patch was a silver sponsor of the  event. Pictured in the slideshow are teams from Arlington, Framingham, Natick, Needham, Newton, Reading and Wayland.  
Several hundred people attended the kick-off celebration for the 30th Annual Memorial Day Classic Soccer Tournament at Bowditch Field Friday night. Before the game spectators had their faces painted and had tattoos air brushed on them. They received bubbles from the Framingham Patch tent and Frisbees from the Framingham Co-operative Bank tent. The Lions Club sold food. In the first game, Bryce Nardizzi scored the lone goal as the Framingham Strikers defeated the Natick Vikings. The Framingham United Soccer Club and the Framingham United Boosters Club annually offers scholarships to select graduating high school seniors who have been players or referee members of Framingham United Soccer Club (FUSC) and who will be attending an accredited two or four year college after graduation. This year, the amount awarded for each scholarship is $750 and are awarded in memory of four individuals. Henry Politzer, who is remembered and esteemed by the club, was a founding member of FUSC. He conducted exceptional soccer coaching clinics, wrote numerous articles in “Coaches Corner” …
Prior to the start of the season, Framingham United Soccer Club is again sponsoring fast footwork clinics for soccer players looking to improve their footwork and ball control. These clinics will be held at Marian High on the dates shown below (enter in the back from the parking lot.) The coaches are professional coaches from Mass. Premier Soccer, and the cost will be $10 for both sessions ($5 for U8). Each set of sessions will be limited to a maximum of 25 players. The volunteer staff of Framingham United Soccer Club is feverishly working behind the scenes to get ready for the spring soccer season, scheduled to begin on April 9.  Registrations have been flooding in since October and although some age divisions are full others are still accepting late registrations at www.FUSC.org. If you know any friends not yet registered, now is the time. The in-town intramural program will continue to provide competitive and, more importantly, a fun environment for U6 (as young as four years old) to U10 players.
