Come sing and play with words, rhyme, and puppets at baby lapsit time! Parents can network while babies pick up phonemic awareness, one of the foundations for successfully learning to read. This informal program for babies and their parents/caregivers runs about 20 minutes and introduces the pleasures of the library to your baby or toddler.

Presently located in the Saxonville section of Framingham, The McAuliffe Branch library averages about 12,000 visitors a month. The Library Board of Trustees recently announced its intention to re-locate and expand the McAuliffe Library branch. The library branch is named after teacher/astronuant Christa McAuliffe, who lived in the Saxonville section of Framingham. Opened in 1963, the branch library now houses a collection of about 68,000 books and audiovisual items. Other reasons the trustees are interested in moving the branch is that the collection is crammed into high. Also, there are inaccessible shelves and some aisles are not wide enough for wheelchairs. Restrooms are not handicapped accessible either.
