DO YOU HAVE A HEALTHY HEART? COME FIND OUT AT OUR HEART HEALTH FAIR & CARDIOVASCULAR SCREENING.
About: The MetroWest YMCA and MetroWest Medical Center are collaborating to improve the health of our community members! Join us for a Heart Health Fair & CV Screening done by specialists from the MetroWest Medical Center at the MetroWest YMCA. Learn your numbers for cholesterol, blood pressure, glucose, BMI, receive your Framingham Risk Score and discuss results with medical experts. Also, learn about health and well-being programs the MetroWest YMCA and MetroWest Medical Center offer to help keep your heart healthy and other preventative care opportunities.
What is the Framingham Risk Score?
The Framingham Risk score estimates the 10 year risk of manifesting clinical cardiovascular disease (Heart attacks, stents, heart bypass surgery, stroke). Risk assessment tools such as this are important because they help your physician identify specific risk factors that need to be modified to reduce overall risk. Then strategies or treatments can be implemented to modify your risk (should I be on medications for my blood pressure, just how bad is smoking for my health?, etc).
Who it’s for: Adults ages 35-65
Date, Time & Location: Wednesday February 27th, 3-7pm at the MetroWest YMCA Framingham Branch.
