OBITUARY OF DR. DOREEN J. DOTALO....SOUTH '64

Dr. Doreen Jane Dotalo, 67, of Monroe, NC passed away peacefully on April 23, 2014, at her home. Born in Framingham, MA., she was the daughter of the late Margaret and Dominic Dotalo as well as her late sister, Karen Dotalo White. She graduated from Framingham South High in 1964 and received her various studies and degrees from Regis, Boston Colleges, and John Hopkins. Dr. Dotalo held several positions in her life as an assistant principal, principal, and assistant superintendent in the various high school districts in both Carolinas. She was intelligent and gave her life to the children she served and even in her retirement sent money monthly to Monroe High School to make sure all students had lunch money. A beautiful memorial service was conducted on Thursday, May 1st, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Monroe, NC. where she attended. A priest of the church who officiated at the memorial was one of her former students. Also, one of her friends that she worked with gave a most heartwarming eulogy of her life. Ecclesiastes 7:1 says "A good name (reputation) is better than good oil, and (in this regards) the day of death is better than the day of birth."
