5 Things You Need To Know Today: April 14

Passover, begins at sundown tonight, April 14.

1. Transition Framingham is hosting a free screening of the documentary A Crude Awakening at the main Framingham Library tonight at 7. The 90-minute documentary by Markus Imhoof tells the story of how civilization's addiction to oil puts it on a collision coursed with geology. The documentary won Zurich, Australian, and Swiss Film Awards​.​

2. Framingham Rotary Club is scheduled to meet today at 12:15 p.m. at Ken's Steak House.

3. Just a reminder that NSTAR will be conducting aerial surveys of its wires via helicopters in Framingham, beginning this week. For more details, click here.

4. It is Brophy Elementary School night at Five Guys Burgers & Fries. Between 3 and 10 p.m., 10 percent of all sales will be donated to Brophy Elementary's PTO.

5. Passover begins at sundown tonight. The Jewish holiday commemorates the Israelites' escape from Egyptian slavery. A Passover Seder, a Jewish ritual feast, typically marks the beginning of the Jewish holiday. During the Seder, a special plate containing six symbolic foods, is  used in the retelling of the story of the Exodus from Egypt.
