5 Things You Need To Know Today: Feb. 20

The Tavern celebrated its 5th anniversary this week.

1. The Framingham Flyers ice hockey team will battle Chelmsford High for the rights to the Cahoon Cup tonight in Burlington at 8 at the Ice Palace.

The boys defeated Medford 4-3 earlier this week. Click here to view photos of the first Cup game from Cummings Photography.

2. Local brewers Jack's Abby released its Barrel Aged Saxonator Wednesday. It is available at the brewery in bottles and on draft for samples.

3. The main Framingham Library will host is next Adventure Club today at 11 a.m. for children ages 8-10. This month's club meeting focuses on creating your very own Super Hero! The library will provide all you need to come up with a costume, symbol and origin for your unique champion of justice! Pre-registration is required!

4. It is school vacation week. Looking for a fun place to take the kids? Consider visiting Whimsy Arts & Crafts. It will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

Girls can decorate a jewelry box or a soccer ball. Boys can build and paint a wooden car. The walk-in studio offers kids the opportunity to mosaic a picture frame, build a wooden airplane or design your own T-shirt.

5. On Tuesday, The Tavern in Framingham celebrated its 5th anniversary. The downtown establishment is known for great local music and some say its pub food. Personally, I like the Tavern Burger, the bacon-wrapped fried Pop-Tart, not-so-much.
