5 Things You Need To Know Today: July 25

Danforth Museum, R&B on the Common, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, free attractions and free wi-fi on the MBTA commuter rail all featured in today's column.

1. The Danforth Museum of Art in Framingham is free today thanks to the Highland Street Foundation.

Families and visitors can Summer Juried Exhibitions Off the Wall and Community of Artists at the museum. Try your hand at a variety of gallery games like Bingo and Combo Creations. Meet exhibiting artists to learn the personal story of their art work. Play with pop-up books from Pop-Up Shape and Color: From the Ellie G. Levine Moveable Book Collection, and make your own whimsical paper creations. Even story time will be full of movement, sound and other pop-up surprises at the Museum today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. And stop by the tent, where tent will be art activities.

2. If the art museum is not your thing, the following museums and attractions are free today thanks to the Highland Street Foundation:


3. JC & Enfusion will bring R&B and Soul to the Framingham Centre Common at 6:30 p.m. as part of the Framingham Parks & Recreation summer concert series.

 
4.  The Framingham Library will screen Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for free at its main branch at 2 p.m.

5.  In Case You Missed This: A faster, state-of-the-art WiFi system is coming to the MBTA’s commuter rail trains at no cost, the agency announced on Thursday morning.

A new license agreement was signed by MBTA General Manager Beverly Scott on Thursday. The T said the new system will be installed on trains throughout the network of 14 commuter rail lines, plus commuter boats and South, North and Back Bay stations.
