5 Things You Need To Know Today: June 9

Planning Board meeting, Part 2 of the Not So Secret Life of the Framingham Teen, Framingham athlete wins state title and prescription drug workshop all featured in today's column.


1. Heritage at Framingham will host a Prescription Drugs Dos & Don't for Seniors today at 2:30 p.m. Be an advocate for your health with this free seminar about medications. Learn how to keep your medications up-to-date, the drug interactions and side effects; whether to consider generic or other substitutes; as well as who pays for what. RSVP by calling 508-665-5300.

2. Tonight is Part 2 of the Not So Secret Life of the Framingham Teen at Framingham High at 7 p.m. The interactive event is sponsored by Framingham Town Wide PTO & Community Health Forum Task Force.

3. The Framingham Planning Board is scheduled to meet tonight at 7 in the Ablondi Room in the Memorial Building. On the agenda is a public hearing on the health club that would like to construct at the former ice cream plant on Old Conn Path, continuation of the Marist property Dover amendment hearing, a continuation of a hearing on a Clarks Hill development and a special permit hearing for the construction of a single family home at 133 Warren Road.

4. The Framingham Rotary Club helped with the installation of a play set for small children and several park benches for parents to sit at Butterworth Park. There will be a celebration of the improvements today at 3:30 p.m.

5. In Case You Missed It: Eric Mellusi won the state title in the discus over the weekend. Mellusi graduated from Framingham High on June 1.
