5 Things You Need To Know Today: March 10

Great Day to Be Irish performance at the Callahan Center by Ruth Harcovitz featured in today's column.

1. The main Framingham Library will hold its Bilingual Babies Program today from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. fir babies from birth to age 2. At these groups, attendees and their baby will strengthen their child's early literacy skills or get your child ready for kindergarten through music, movement, and stories while having fun! Siblings always welcome.

2. Friends of Callahan will welcome soprano Ruth Harcovitz to the Callahan Center today at 1:30 p.m. The free program is supported in part by a grant from the Framingham Cultural Council, a local agency of the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency and the Friends of the Callahan Senior Center.

3. There is a campaign kick-off event tonight at the British Beer Company at 6 for Framingham Town Meeting member Brian LeFort, who is running for state representative in the 13th Middlesex District. LeFort, a Saxonville resident, who represent Precinct 3 in Framingham, a couple of precincts in Marlborough as well as Sudbury and Wayland. The seat is presently held by Rep. Tom Conroy, who is running for Massachusetts Treasurer. LeFort's campaign can be reached at lefortforrep@gmail.com

4. Framingham Library Trustees will meet tonight at 7 in the Trustees Room at the main Framingham Library. On the agenda is a Fiscal Year 2015 budget, main library space utilization update and update from the Framingham Public Library Foundation.

5. In Case You Missed It: NBC Studios filmed at Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency and at a private residence in Framingham. NBC Studios is filming a TV pilot called the OdysseyActor Treat Williams filmed scenes for the TV show at MEMA HQ on Route 9 and actor Peter Facinelli filmed scenes in North Framingham.
