5 Things You Need To Know Today: March 18

Framingham Selectmen to honor restaurants, meet new CEO of MetroWest Medical and hear CFO present on budget tonight.

1. Framingham Selectmen are scheduled to meet tonight at 7 in the Ablondi Room in the Memorial Building. To open the meeting, Selectmen plan to recognize restaurants that held fundraisers to help the Park family of Framingham, who lost their home in a tragic fire last year.

Also on the agenda is an introduction to the new CEO of MetroWest Medical Center, an appointment to the Veterans Council, taxi company permit renewals, joint meeting with the planning and zoning boards, budget presentation by the CFO, presentation of commercial value comparison with surrounding communities and a vote to close the annual Town Meeting warrant.

2. The 99 Restaurant in Framingham is hosting a fundraiser for the Callahan Senior Center tonight from 5 to 8 p.m. The Route 9 restaurant will donate 15 percent of the bill to the Framingham senior center from 5 to 8 p.m.

3. OR support Framingham Girl Scouts by having dinner at Five Guys Burger & Fries in Framingham  tonight from 3 to 10. A portion of sales with be donated to the Framingham Girl Scouts.

4. Framingham Public School students in grades K-12 are part of an art exhibit at the main Framingham Library on Lexington Street this month as part of National Youth Art month.

5.  In Case You Missed It: With no one matching the winning numbers of Friday night’s Mega Millions jackpot, the pot grows to $400 million for tonight's drawing. The jackpot has been building since the last winner on Jan. 3. The $400 million jackpot is the sixth largest in the United States.
