5 Things You Need To Know Today: May 21

Featured in today's column Flyers playoff volleyball, Framingham High POPS concert, Night 11 of Town Meeting, Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee Day and learn more about Boston Harbor Islands at the Framingham Library.

1. Learn about the Boston Harbor Islands at a free presentation at the main Framingham Library tonight at 7. Boston Harbor Islands: Home on the Harbor  is presented by Kevin Rogers and he will talk about what the harbor has meant to different people through the years -- Native Americans. fur traders, soldiers and ship wreck survivors.

2. Framingham High's POPS Concert is tonight at the school's auditorium at 7.

3.  Town Meeting members made their way through more than a half dozen articles Tuesday night, including approving Article 27, a zoning bylaw change to preserve open space in Framingham.

Tonight, Town Meeting members are hopeful they will complete the warrant, as they begin discussion on Article 33. Night 11 of Town Meeting is scheduled to begin tonight at 7:30 in Nevins Hall inside the Memorial Building or when a quorum is reached. 

4. Framingham High is seeded #11 in the MIAA Division 1 Central division post-season tournament. The Flyers will host Xaverian, seeded #6, on May 22 at 4 p.m., according to the MIAA website.

5. In case you missed it: Today is not Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee Day and Dunkin Donuts will donate a dollar from every cup of iced coffee sold today to Boston Children’s Hospital.
