5 Things You Need To Know Today: May 6

Town Meeting continues tonight with night 4. Prior to Town Meeting, Framingham Selectmen are scheduled to meet publicly at 6:45 p.m.

1. Susan Nicholl, who is executive director of the MetroWest Tourism & Visitors Bureau, will be the featured speaker at the Rotary Club of Framingham's luncheon today. The luncheon will be held at Ken's Steakhouse at 12:15. Non-members may attend at $20.

The Framingham-based Bureau is the first Regional Tourism Council devoted solely to the MetroWest and provides an active guide of things to see and do around 19 MetroWest communities.

2. Framingham Selectmen are scheduled to meet tonight at 6:45 p.m., before Town Meeting. On the agenda is a vote on easements for construction and sewer projects and a public hearing vote on an entertainment license for La Casa del Chicharron on Irving Street.

3.  Framingham Town Meeting continues tonight. Night 4, is scheduled to begin at 7:30 in Nevins Hall inside the Memorial Building or when a quorum is reached. Town Meeting is expected to continue discussion on the proper $14 million capital projects budget tonight. Framingham Patch will be live blogging.

In Case You Missed It: Target’s CEO has resigned in the wake of a massive data breach that impacted as many as 40 million customers. Gregg Steinhafel, who has been CEO since 2008, has stepped down, the company announced Monday. Click here to read more.5. The Town of Framingham is hiring summer laborers to maintain the Town's fields, parks and recreational areas. The work involves operating park maintenance equipment to maintenance fields, recreation areas, and parks including, but not limited to, painting, mowing, trimming, trash removal, ball field maintenance, raking, cleaning and general landscaping type activities. Applicants must be at least 18 and have a MA Class C drivers license.
