UPDATED: Tonight's Tax Classification Hearing Changed to Wednesday Night

A space heater may be the cause of a garage fire on Franklin Street Monday.

1. If you love snow, you will be happy.

Weather forecasters have increased Monday's forecast of 2-3 inches of snow for Framingham and MetroWest today to now a half foot or more of snow.

WHDH-TV is predicting 5-8 inches for Framingham and MetroWest. Snowfall could start as early as 9 a.m., according to Weather.com; and likely will last through the afternoon commute.

If you do not like snow, the good news is some weather forecasters say MetroWest and Framingham could see 40 degree temperatures be week's end.

2. UPDATED: 5:25 p.m. - Spoke to Framingham Selectmen Chair Dennis Giombetti and Town Counsel Chris Petrini and tonight's tax classification hearing will be rescheduled until 6:30 Wednesday.

Framingham Selectmen will hold a tax classification hearing tonight. The vote by Selectmen will determine what homeowners and commercial property owners will have as a tax rate for 2014. The Selectmen's meeting will begin at 7 in the Memorial Building.

3. Framingham firefighters battled a fire in a garage on Franklin Street Monday around noon.

When firefighters arrived they found the 3-bay detached garage with fire in the interior at 276 Franklin St.

The garage is a total loss. The Framingham Fire Department is still investigating the cause, but the homeowners were using a space heater in the garage prior to the fire.

4.  Fuller Middle School PTO is holding a fundraiser tonight at Five Guys Burger and Fries from 3 to 10 p.m.No flyer is necessary, so stop by to enjoy a burger and some fries, said PTO Vice President Pam O'Callaghan. All are welcome and a portion of all sales will go to the PTO and support Fuller Middle School activities.

5. In Case You Missed It: Long-time Framingham resident Cheryl Tully Stoll has announced her candidacy for one of the two available seats on the Framingham Board of Selectmen in April’s election. Current Selectmen Chair Dennis Giombetti announced earlier this month he won't seek re-election. Selectman Laurie Lee is running for re-election.
