Contest to Re-Name Chocolate Shop, Register Kids for Acting Classes and Thai Food

One-man musical show featuring the music of George M Cohan, Eddie Cantor and Al Jolson at the main Framingham Library tonight.

1​.​ Chocolate Therapy on Route 9 in Framingham needs your help.

​"It has come to our attention that we have to change our name due to a trademark issue with the word “Therapy​," wrote the owners of the company on its Facebook page.

"​We are running a contest ​... and would like you to help us come up with a new name that will capture the essence of what we have created at Chocolate Therapy, thanks to all of you.​"​ Submit your names that include the word Chocolate but not the word Therapy. ​Click here to see names already suggested. ​

The winner will receive a gift box of Truffles! 

2. Space is still available in the "Acting for Kids" 8-week program at the Performing Arts Center of MetroWest (PAC). 

Children ages 4-6 will participate in an acting program​ with veteran instructor Joey Talbert, as she teaches students to use their voices, bodies and imaginations to act out a story each week. Theater games and movement will feature prominently. An ​​informal show will be performed for families on the final day of class.

Classes start today, Oct. 2 and runs from 3:40​ to 4:25 p​.m. Tuition is $128 (annual registration fee may apply). To register call the PAC office at  ​508-875-5554. 

3.  ​Many school events today -- Hemenway Elementary PTO meet tonight at 6:30 and Dunning Elementary's and Wilson Elementary's PTO meets tonight at 7. Juniper Hill will hold a kindergarten night at 7.  

4. Tonight, the main Framingham Library will host Mel Simons ​in a musical ​program with stories and songs of some of the great show​ ​business stars of another era​ -- Al Jolson, Jimmy Durante, George M. Cohan and Eddie Cantor. ​The event starts at 7 and is free.
