1. Framingham Public School students, in grades 1-12, return to school today. Please drive carefully. Watch out for walkers and students at the bus stops. And be prepared there may be delays on your normal commute due to to the school buses. There are more than 8,000 Framingham Public School students.
There is a kindergarten orientation on Aug. 30, but preschool and kindergarten students do not start school until the Tuesday after Labor Day.
2. Framingham Superintendent of Schools Stacy Scott held a system wide meeting for staff Monday at Nevins Hall in the Memorial Building, for more than 1,500.
Tuesday night, Scott told Framingham School Committee members 130 new teachers and 30 other employees are new to the system. He said staff has been busy preparing for students and he has seen the "high energy" in the schools.
