1. The Framingham Flyers, with a record of 8-8, qualified for the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) Division 1 North Field Hockey tournamentFramingham, seeded #17, will travel to Lawrence Stadium to take on #16 Central Catholic today at 6:30 p.m. Central Catholic has a record of 10-8.

The winner of that game will play #1 seeded Acton-Boxborough (17-0-1) on Friday, Nov. 1 at 3 p.m.

2. Framingham Selectmen voted Tuesday night to set a Special Town Meeting for Thursday, Nov 21 at 7:30 p.m. There are four articles on the warrant, including two citizen petitions.

3. Framingham Selectmen unanimously approved the transfer of a license and an all-alcohol license from Limey's Pub to Pho Dakao, a Vietnamese restaurant Tuesday night. The family that will operate the new downtown Framingham restaurant has a successful Vietnamese restaurant in Worcester.

This will be Framingham's first Vietnamese restaurant. The owners said ideally they would love to open for the December holiday season, but realistically they may not be able to have a grand opening until January 2014.

The attorney for the owners said the plans are to decrease the size of the current bar and increase the number of tables for food. He said the pool table and bar games will be removed. Selectman Jason Smith reminded the owners that Scorpion Bowls are prohibited in Framingham, and although on the Worcester menu, can not be on the Framingham one.

Vietnamese food differs from Chinese food in that most options are steamed not fried. Customers also have the ability to adjust the spice level on dishes.

"Thrilled a Vietnamese restaurant is coming to Framingham," said Selectman Laurie Lee.

4. The Town of Framingham is offering free flu clinics at the Board of Health office from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and 4 to 4:45 p.m. weekdays for all those 6 months and older. Interested parties are asked to bring their health insurance or Medicare card with them to Room 221 in the Memorial Building.

5. In Case You Missed It:  A Framingham firefighter, whom Southborough Police said was struck by a drunk driver on Oct. 16, is awake and out of a medically-induced coma. Joseph Keefe, 54, who is recovering at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester also suffered several broken bones in the Southborough crash.

Friends and Framingham Firefighters have set up a Facebook page for Keefe.

Family is requesting no visitors at this time, as Keefe continues his recovery.
