Framingham's Beaches Close Today; Blazers Concert Tonight

The Framingham Blazers Band will perform a concert tonight at 6:30 at Framingham High's auditorium.


1. Framingham's three beaches will close for the season today. All three beaches will be open today from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

The beaches, run by Framingham Parks & Recreation department, are Learned's Pond, Saxonville and Waushakum. Lifeguards are on duty at all three. Beach passes are required for admission. Day passes can be purchased at the gate - $3 for residents and $6 for non-residents.

2. The Framingham Blazers Band will perform a concert tonight at 6:30 at Framingham High's auditorium. Admission is $5 per person. Music to be performed include standards from the Big band era, sounds of the '80s, classical music and a few surprises. The band is composed of high school students to adults in Framingham and MetroWest communities, under the direction of Brian Cervone.

3. The Framingham Farmer's Market is open today from noon to 5:30 p.m. at the Framingham Centre Common. The market sells a lot more than fresh fruits and vegetables. Click here to learn more about some of the vendors.

4. Stop by the market with the family and then bring the kids to Edgell Memorial Library at 2 p.m. for a fun arts & crafts workshop. Kids will be block painting with fruits and vegetables. RSVP is suggested but not required. Learn more by clicking here.

5. Tonight is round 2 of the Battle of the Teen Bands at SKYBOKX 109 in Natick. The lineup is


  • Sound Pilot: 80 - 8:20 p.m.
  • The Four Noble Truths: 8:40 - 9:00 p.m.
  • The Rolling Coasters: 9:20 - 9:40 p.m.
