Girl Scout Day At UNO's, Tea Party at Library and Stamps Increasing in 2014

The main Framingham Library is holding an American Girl tea party today, Dec. 31 from 2 to 4 p.m.

1. Today is Framingham Girl Scout Day at Uno's. Consider take-out for the office and catering dinner to celebrate the new year.  There is a kid’s menu as well as gluten-free options. Please remember to present the UNO’s voucher with your order to ensure the Framingham Girl Scouts earn credit for your purchase. Your support covers scholarships for memberships and lowers the cost for Framingham Girl Scout service unit activities.

2. The main Framingham Library is holding an American Girl tea party today, Dec. 31 from 2 to 4 p.m. Join the library in welcoming Kirsten, its new American Girl Doll at the tea party. Bring your doll (does not have to be an American Girl doll), have some treats, make a craft, and meet Kirsten. The American Girl doll was donated to the Framingham Library by Adelaide Schwarz with clothes by Betty Hunt. Kirsten will be available for kids to borrow and bring home in the new year.

NOTE: The library will close early today, Dec. 31 and will remain closed on New Year's day, Jan. 1.

3. Nobscot's cafe will hold its annual customer and staff appreciation party tonight, on New Year's Eve starting at 7:30 with appetizers and music from DJ Tim Hoey.

4. Myq Kaplan will headline a comedy New Year’s Eve show at The Amazing Things Arts Center. The show is presented by Scamps Comedy Productions. Beer and wine will be served and showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets are $30, $28 for students and seniors, and $25 for members.

5. In Case You Missed It:  U.S. Postal Service will increase the price of stamps in 2014. A first class stamp will increase to  49 cents, up 3 cents from the current price. Click here for more details, including what date in January the stamp will increase.
