Marian Girls Volleyball Advances to Semifinals; Sheriff Cadet Graduation Today

Hemenway, Dunning and Wilson elementary school PTOs meet tonight.

1. #1 seeded Marian High girls volleyball team defeated Norfolk Aggie 3-1 Tuesday night to move ahead in the MIAA Division 3 Central tournament. 

Marian will now play either fourth-seeded Sutton or fifth-seeded Whitinsville Christian on tomorrow night, Nov 7 at 7 p.m. at Marian in semifinal action. 

Junior captain Alicia Franchi had three aces in the win. Junior Leana Mohr led the Mustangs with 13 kills.

2. Hemenway PTO meets tonight at 6:30 and Dunning Elementary and Wilson Elementary PTO's meet at 7 p.m.

4. Middlesex Sheriff Peter Koutoujian will preside over the graduation of the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office 36th Basic Training Academy today at 11 a.m. in Melrose. Cadets attending the 36th Basic Training Academy received classroom and practical training focused on the corrections and criminal justice systems, defensive tactics, firearms, first-responder and transportation procedures. 

5. In Case You Missed It: Lowell Catholic's keeper notched a shut out as Marian High lost 1-0, in a Division 4 North Sectional boys soccer quarterfinal game Monday night in Chelmsford.
