UPDATED: Framingham State University's New President Unanimously Approved by State Board
The Framingham School Committee will not meet tonight, Jan. 21.

UPDATED at 1:21 p.m.: The Massachusetts Board of Higher Education unanimously confirmed Dr. F. Javier Cevallos as the next president of Framingham State University.

1. Earlier this month, the Board of Trustees of Framingham State University unanimously recommended the appointment of Dr. F. Javier Cevallos, as the 16th president of Framingham State University. Today, the recommendation will be voted on by the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education on Jan. 21 Boston. If approved, Dr. Cevallos will take over as president in July. 2. Pending the snowstorm, Framingham Selectmen are scheduled to meet tonight, Jan. 21 at 7. On the agenda is the consideration of a Framingham Public access TV agreement, capital budget priority discussion, public hearing for a liquor license for Thai Place, among other items.
3. UPDATED: There will be NO Framingham School Committee meeting tonight. The School Committee will meet either Thursday, Jan. 23 at 7.
Due to the holiday, the school administration did not file its public meeting notice by the required 48 hours prior to the meeting.
4. Governor Deval L. Patrick has ordered that the United States flag and the Commonwealth flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings from sunrise until sunset on Tuesday, Jan. 21, in honor of Petty Officer Third Class Nathan V. Nissay, U.S. Navy, of Dracut who died Dec. 30, 2013.
