1. My friend Laura Richards, a Framingham resident and mother of four boys, has launched a new business in town - Organization Works, a professional organizing company. Yesterday, she started blogging on Framingham Patch, too. Read her first post here.

2. On Tuesday, Oct. 15 Framingham voters will go to the polls to select one Democrat and one Republican to face off in December to become the new U.S. Representative for the 5th Congressional District, which includes Framingham.

Yesterday, Patch ran articles on what the three Republican candidates and the seven Democratic candidates had to say about the economy and unemployment.

Framingham Patch plans to run reports on issues with the candidates through Sunday.

3. The Lutheran Church of Framingham is holding its annual Blessing of the Animals service tonight at 6:30. Following the short gathering, there will be a pizza dinner and treats for the dogs in attendance. Adults, children, teens, dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, guinea pigs, fish, hamsters, goats, horses and cows are welcome to gather.

4. Yesterday, Marian High School Cross-Country team hosted a tri-meet with Austin Prep and Arlington Catholic. Despite the two losses, the "Mustangs got a few outstanding results and everyone ran a personal record best on the course, said head coach Chris Collins. Click here to read more about the individual accomplishments.

Framingham Patch was the first media outlet to publish the Superintendent's new LEAP program plan. His plan calls for moving fifth grade students to Fuller Middle School in the fall of 2014 for only two of the town's elementary schools - Brophy and McCarthy; and for opening the community's ninth elementary school at the King Administration Building in 2014, too.
