Framingham Artisan Cheesemaker Sue Rübel Celebrates Gold Medal Achievement

Framingham, MA, August 28, 2013– Nobscot Artisan Cheese announced today that one of the flavors of its Eastleigh Fresh line of soft spreadable cheeses, Herbes de Provence, won a gold medal in the Class 6 - Flavored Soft Spread category during the Big E Gold Medal Cheese Competition held last Friday. The competition was open to cheeses made by New England licensed cheese makers in a licensed dairy facility, which included commercial and artisanal cheese from a variety of sources including dairy cattle, goats and sheep.

We are proud to receive this recognition. It si a large achievement for a small artisan company such as Nobscot Artisan Cheese to compete with larger cheese producers at a prestigious competition like the Big E.” SUE RÜBEL, NOBSCOT ARTISAN CHEESE

Eastleigh Fresh, named for Eastleigh Farm in Framingham, Massachusetts where Nobscot Artisan Cheese is located, is a soft, spreadable cheese with a smooth texture. The cheese is a versatile pasteurized whole milk cheese made from creamy Jersey cow’s milk. It can be used on crackers, with veggies, put in omelets, on pizza, burgers, steaks and used as a spread for sandwiches. This is not the first award for the cheese line. Nobscot Artisan Cheese was awarded a silver medal in the same category for its Sun Dried Tomato Basil Garlic flavor in 2012 at the same competition.
