5 Things You Need To Know Today: July 18

Free puppet show at Village Hall, Framingham Farmers Market open noon to 5:30 p.m., Portuguese story hour and mosquito spraying tonight all featured in today's column.

Our daily column, 5 Things You Need to Know Today, will help you to get your day started and offer you some fodder for water cooler conversation.

1. Corn is now in season and available at the Framingham Farmers Market at the Framingham Centre Common today from noon to 5:30 p.m.

2. The Framingham History Center presents "Summertime on the Centre Common" today from 2 to 2:45 p.m. Catch a free presentation of Sir George and the Dragon by Pumpernickel Puppets inside Village Hall at 2 p.m.  All children must be accompanied by an adult. Sir George and the Dragon is most appropriate for children age 3 and older  RSVPs not required but appreciated. RSVP to  charlene@framinghamhistory.org. The program is sponsored by NorthEast Community Bank.

3. The Framingham Board of Assessors are scheduled to meet tonight at 7 in the Memorial Building.

4. Portuguese story time at the main Framingham Library tonight at 7.
