Framingham Public Works division has issued an alert for state and local road construction and bridge work.

MassDOT scores:

Arthur Street:
Construction crews will begin sidewalk construction during the week of September 16th on Arthur Street between Bishop Street and Willis Street. Traffic will be managed utilizing a one lane alternating traffic management plan through the work zone. Construction activities are scheduled to take place daily between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Chouteau Avenue Area: Construction crews will continue roadway reconstruction activities on Chouteau Avenue, Lasalle Avenue, Lakeview Road, Laclede Avenue and Lake Road. Construction activities are scheduled to take place daily between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

North Concord Street Detour: On Monday, Sept. 23, Tuesday Sept. 24 and Wednesday Sept. 25, the contractor will construct this sewer manhole between the hours of 8 pm to 5 am. This work will require the closing of Concord Street and Watson Place during the overnights. Northbound Concord Street traffic will continue with the current detour and Southbound Concord Street traffic (entering from Elm and or Central) will be detoured to Danforth Street to Old Connecticut Path to School Street and Back to Concord Street. Danforth Street therefore will be utilized for two way traffic and Police details will be present to support and provide detour guidance during this construction.
Traffic will resume to the current pattern of the north bound detour and south bound only use of Concord Street between “A” Street and Watson Place each of these mornings at 5 am.

If all goes as planned, the decommissioning of the Concord Street detour will begin following this work and we anticipate that Concord Street will be open to all traffic on Friday, Sept. 27. We will have the detour dismantled and traffic back to its normal patterns for Monday Sept. 30 regardless of what we may encounter between now and then. However, we should expect that some work will be remaining, such as the removal of equipment, utility poles and signal heads during the week of the 30. Click here for detour map.

Edgell Road: Roadway construction activities continue on Edgell Road at the intersection Edgell Road and Oak Street. Sidewalk construction activities will continue on the western side of Edgell Road. Traffic will be managed through the work zone utilizing lane shifts on Edgell Road. Construction activities are scheduled between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily.
