Last month, a dog chased a squirrel onto the frozen Charles River in Massachusetts and fell through the ice.

The dog's frantic owner called 911 for help, and Wellesley Firefighters rescued Crosby, a 5-year old golden retriever.

Tuesday, the firefighters, including Framingham resident Dave Papazian, appeared on the Ellen Degeneres TV show.

Ellen, after interviewing the heroes, presented each of the firefighters with a custom-made life preservers and an all-expenses-paid cruise to the Caribbean.

Unfortunately, the firefighters are prohibited from accepted the cruise, due to Massachusetts law.
