Mojitos, Munchies and MetroWest Jeopardy Maven Crowned

Three women competed in MetroWest Jeopardy to win the title of Most Astute MetroWest Maven Award Wednesday night, in an event sponsored by the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce.

  • Which MetroWest Community is famous for its Brogan Shoes and the first baseball manufacturing plant in the United States?
  • Before La Cantina became a restaurant it served South Framingham in what capacity?
  • How many communities border Framingham?
  • Which MetroWest community has the most extensive World War II collection?
  • Which MetroWest town celebrated its 375th anniversary this year?

These were a few of the questions in the MetroWest Jeopardy Smack-down at the Women's Fun Federation event at the Verve Crowne Plaza in Natick Wednesday night.

About 50 women attended the event, but only three women competed in MetroWest Jeopardy to win the title of Most Astute MetroWest Maven (MAMM Award).

Competitors were Missy Penedo, Janet Drummey and Donna Lynch.

Penedo, a lifelong resident of Framingham, won the MAMM Award.

Before the competition, attendees at the Women's Fun Federation event sipped signature cocktails including Royal Blush, The Last Word, pear of Diamonds and Age Reverser.

The ladies from MetroWest dined on appetizers and learned how to make a Strawberry Ginger Mojito from one of the bartenders at the hotel's Violet Thorn lounge.

Inspired by the classic Cyndi Lauper song Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, the goal of the Women's Fun Federation is to have a night out focused on friendship, women and fun. The Women's Fun Federation is part of the Framingham-based MetroWest Chamber of Commerce.

The next Women's Fun Federation event will be a chocolate and wine event in September at Chocolate Therapy in Framingham.
