Saturday's Event Supports Restoration of Saxonville's Athenaeum

Join The Friends of Saxonville for community, culture and cuisine — a reception and concert to benefit the Restoration of The Athenaeum Community Hall

Join The Friends of Saxonville for community, culture and cuisine — a reception and concert to benefit the Restoration of The Athenaeum Community Hall on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.

Although the exterior of Athenaeum has been restored, the interior is in complete disrepair.

The goal of the event is to raise $10,000 to help with construction costs, provide furnishings and accessories (i.e. media equipment and kitchen necessities), and assist the town with operating expense support.

Event highlights include hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar of fine wine and beer, a brief review of the planned restoration of The Athenaeum Community Hall, a concert of Baroque period selections for harpsichord and flute by The Hunt Trio and the event is topped off with desserts, coffee and tea.

The venue for Saturday's event is the dance studio of Mass Ballet in the Saxonville Mill at 2 Watson Place. Mass Ballet owner Megan Powers donated the space.

Tickets are limited and are $50 per person.
