School Starts This Week, But Construction Continues on Framingham Roads

Auburn Street – Temporary Road Closure/Detour: Drainage construction activities on the eastern portion of Auburn Street will require a temporarily road closure while construction activities are in progress.  To access the eastern portion of Auburn Street, Auburn Street Extension and Beulah Street from Edgell Road, traffic will be directed north on Edgell Road, from Edgell Road to Central Street, from Central Street to Kellogg Street, from Kellogg Street to Prospect Street, from Prospect Street to Route 9 West, from Route 9 to Beulah Street or Auburn Street.  Residents and Businesses on Auburn Street will be provided with information on the best way to access their properties.  Drainage upgrades are anticipated to be complete in early September of 2013.  Click here for detour map.

Arthur Street/ Chouteau Avenue Area Roadway Restoration:  Construction crews will continue full depth roadway reconstruction activities on Chouteau Avenue, Lasalle Avenue, Lakeview Road, Laclede Avenue and Lake Road.  Construction activities are scheduled to take place daily between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Use caution and expect delays while travelling in this area.


North Concord Street - Detour: 
To facilitate the deep gravity sewer main construction and pipe jacking underneath the Sudbury River Levy, a detour for all northbound traffic on Concord Street in Saxonville is currently in place.  All northbound traffic travelling on Concord Street will be detoured from Concord Street to School Street, from School Street to Cottage Street, from Cottage Street to Danforth Street and from Danforth Street back onto Concord Street; southbound traffic travelling on Concord Street will continue south on Concord Street. Click here for detour map.

Wickford Road Bridge: Wickford Road Bridge is temporarily closed for rehabilitation by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT).  Due to material delays, there is a potential that the bridge may not be open until in the early Spring of 2014.   Click here for detour map.

Winter Street Bridge Over the Sudbury River: The Winter Street Bridge over the Sudbury River will be is temporarily closed for rehabilitation by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT).  It is anticipated that the Winter Street Bridge over the Sudbury River will reopen in the Fall of 2013.  Click here for detour map.


Framingham Department of Public Works Highway Department Projects:

Lincoln Street: Construction crews will be performing sidewalk construction on Lincoln Street.  Construction activities are scheduled between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Pleasant Street Area: 
The Highway Department will be installing a pavement leveler course in the Pleasant Street area. Construction activities are scheduled between to take place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily.  


South Concord Street: 
Construction crews will begin to remove sidewalk panels and install communications conduit on Concord Street between Hartford Street and Lincoln Street.  Construction activities are scheduled to take place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.  

Vernon Street and Oak Street: Roadway construction activities will continue with removal and resetting of curbing. Traffic will be managed through the work zone utilizing a one lane alternating traffic management plan.  Construction activities are scheduled to take place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily.

Carter Drive: Construction crews will continue to install communications conduit on Carter Drive.  Traffic will be managed though the work zone utilizing a one lane alternating traffic management plan.  Construction activities are schedule to take place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily.
