Several DPW Events Scheduled for Upcoming Months

Among the upcoming events is Hazardous Waste spring collection.

Don't let the snow fool you. It's nearly spring.

And with spring around the corner, that means there are several key events coming up that are sponsored by the Framingham Department of Public Works.

The first of those events comes on Saturday, April 12, when the town holds its Household Hazardous Waste spring collection. That event runs from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. that day and will take place at McCarthy Elementary School, located at 8 Flagg Drive.

Next on the schedule of DPW events is the 2014 Framingham Earth Day Festival. That is slated for Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Framingham Centre Common.

On May 17, residents are invited to Shred Fest, which is free with a valid $10 Recycling Center permit. Shred Fest takes place from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Town of Framingham Recycling Center, located at 255 Mt. Wayte Ave.

Finally, the town's Electronics Recycling Day, which is also free with a valid $10 Recycling Center permit, is scheduled for Wednesday, June 4, from 12-8 p.m. at the Recycling Center. The $10 fee will be waived if residents donate a non-perishable food item.
