Asevere thunderstorm watch has been issued for a large portion of Massachusetts, including the North Shore, MetroWest and Worcester County.
The watch was issued at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday by the National Weather Service. It runs until 10 p.m.
The watch means that conditions are favorable for the formation of a severe thunderstorm, which could include hail and damaging winds.
Much like Wednesday afternoon, areas under the watch include a large area of eastern and central Massachusetts, including Essex, Middlesex and Worcester counties, plus Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire counties in western Massachusetts.
On Wednesday, a line of showers moved through central Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire, with dozens of lightning strikes.
