When Will the Cochituate Rail Trail be Open to the Public?
After an initial projected open date for the project in late 2012, the proposed trail still isn't open to the public.
A slated opening for the Cochituate Rail Trail is in the fall of next year, according to Joe of the Department of Public Works.
The land for the Rail Trail was purchased in 2001. Twelve years later, as various phases of construction has been underway for the four mile long multi-purpose trail, construction is still incomplete and it isn't available to the public yet. The Cochituate Rail Trail Committee plans to have a public walking tour of the rail trail when it is completed.
