5 Things You Need To Know Today: June 6

Our daily column, 5 Things You Need to Know Today, will help you to get your day started and offer you some fodder for water cooler conversation.

1.  Today is the opening of the Framingham Farmers Market on the Framingham Center Common. The market will be at the common Thursdays from noon to 5:30 p.m.

2. Today more than 75 employers will participate in a MetroWest Job Fair at Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center. The event is sponsored by the Employment & Training Resources, a Massachusetts One-Stop Career Center, in partnership with the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce. Doors at 10 a.m. to Veterans and at 11 a.m. to the public. Event ends at 2 p.m.

3.  Access Framingham, the nonprofit public access corporation
for the Town of Framingham, is holding an orientation session tonight at 7. Access Framingham is a membership-based organization which provides training with video recording and editing equipment as well as access to our cable television channel to show locally recorded programming. Membership is open to anyone who lives, works or goes to school in Framingham, or who is affiliated with a Framingham-based organization. To register for the training session call 508-875-5434.

4. Tonight at 7, the main Framingham Library will host photographer Dick Simon for an illustrated talk on North Korea.  Earlier this year, Simon led a group of business leaders to North Korea where he took some very interesting photos. Refreshments will be served during the free talk.

5. Middlesex Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian was in Framingham Monday to address members of the Rotary Club.
