Actor, Musician and Now Author Rick Springfield in Framingham Tonight

The Jessie's Girl singer will be signing copies of his New York Times bestselling debut novel Magnificent Vibration tonight in Framingham at Shoppers World.

Rick Springfield has been writing and performing music for more than four decades and tonight, June 30, he will be at Barnes & Noble Booksellers in Shoppers World in Framingham.

Springfield will be signing copies of his New York Times bestselling debut novel Magnificent Vibration.

Why are we here? What is love? Is there a loch ness monster? Does God send text messages? These are the kinds of questions Horatio Cotton, aka Bobby, asks in Springfield's novel. After stealing a mysterious self-help book called Magnificent Vibration: Discover Your True Purpose from a bookstore, Bobby calls the 1-800 number scrawled inside the front cover, only to discover that he has a direct line to God. This launches Bobby on an unlikely quest, serendipitously accompanied by a breathtakingly sexy and exceedingly sharp travel companion named Alice. Together the pair sets out to find some combination of spiritual and carnal salvation—and possibly save the planet. Magnificent Vibration is a highly original novel about the biggest questions one man—or mankind—has ever asked.

“This is not the prose of a rock star who decided to try his hand at novel writing, but of a novelist who just happens to be a rockstar," wrote Variety.

The book sells for $24.99 and Springfield is expected to appear at 7 p.m.

An accomplished actor, he has performed on Broadway, headlined in Las Vegas, and starred in numerous movies and television series including General Hospital and most recently, he played a twisted version of “himself” in Showtime's hit Californication.

In the 1980s, while playing Dr. Noah Drake on General Hospital, Springfield's song Jessie's Girl went to No. 1.

Today, as a musician, Springfield tours and performs more than 100 gigs a year around the world.
