Wanted: Artists, Community Organizations To Paint Downtown, Decorate Trees

Framingham Downtown Renaissance is inviting artists, organizations and community groups to paint downtown windows and decorate trees, as part of its 2-day holiday festival Dec. 9-10.

The Framingham Downtown Renaissance is inviting Framingham organizations, community groups, school groups, Scouts, and artists to paint downtown windows in a holiday/winter theme.

Painting will take place between Nov. 28 and Dec. 3.

The decorated "winter wonderland" themed windows will be showcased on Saturday, Dec. 10, as part of the Renaissance group's new holiday festival.

Also on Dec. 10, community and school groups, Scouts and Framingham organizations are invited to make decorations and decorate Christmas trees between 10 a.m. and noon. There will be judging from noon to 2 p.m. and then trees will be auctioned off at 3 p.m.

Those interested in decorating a tree should e-mail elsa.hornfischer@rcn.com no later than Friday, Nov. 18.

The Framingham Downtown Renaissance is purchasing trees from the Boy Scouts and local merchants and stores are sponsoring the trees.
