SLIDESHOW: Patriotic Mural Painted at Framingham Fire HQ

Framingham artist Nancie Handy drew the mural, and with the help of volunteers from Bose Corporation, transformed a blank wall into art, in just one day.

Framingham artist Nancie Handy, with the help of nine volunteers from Bose Corporation, transformed a blank wall at Framingham Fire headquarters into a patriotic mural, that looks so real you will want to try to unfold the waving flag.

Handy, who is the executive and artistic director of F.Y.I. For the Arts in Framingham, designed and hand drew the mural on the wall at the Loring Drive fire house the night before the mural-in-a-day project.

And last Friday, June 13 - the day before Flag Day - she and her team of volunteers painted the mural.

"What a wonderful experience to work collaboratively with such a fun and creative crew," said Handy.

The patriotic mural, located in the training room in the station, is 25 feet by 8 feet.

Supplies were donated by Lowe's in Framingham and the Framingham Downtown Renaissance organization, said Handy.
