SLIDESHOW: Framingham Town Historian Pens Second Book on Civil War

Fred Wallace's book focuses on the battle of Antietam and General George H. Gordon.

Framingham Town Historian Fred Wallace unveiled and discussed his latest book on the Civil War and General George H. Gordon Sunday afternoon at Edgell Memorial Library.

Wallace's second book on Gordon, focuses on the Battle of Antietam.

That  was the one battle that Gordon did not write about and Wallace felt compelled to learn more about his role in the bloodiest day of the war, according to the Framingham History Center.

Titled A Most Rash and Magnificent Charge, Wallace's book focuses on what happened that day in the cornfields of Maryland.

The book published by Damianos Publishing, is available for purchase at the Framingham History Center for $15.

Before Wallace discussed his book before a small crowd, Shades of Gray performed period music Sunday.
