Women's Fun Federation Hosting Party at the Violet Thorn Lounge

"Girls" had $20 in their pockets when they participated in the premiere Women's Fun Federation event - Shop 'Til You Drop at the Salvation Army Thift Store.

Are you in need for a night out with the gals?

Well, the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce's new Women's Fun Federation has an event for you.

Tomorrow night, July 31 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. attend the Federation's second event at the Verve Crowne Plaza in Natick at the hotel's Violet Thorn Lounge. The event is free, but pre-registration is required. Click here to register.

De-stress, sip a cocktails and get a summer mixology crash course. (While the event is free, there will be a cash bar so you can try one of the Violet Thorn's signature cocktails.)

Also during the 90-minute event, attendees can participate in a “MetroWest Jeopardy Smack-down." Compete for the MAMM (Most Astute MetroWest Maven) Award.

The Women's Fun Federation was created by the Framingham-based MetroWest Chamber of Commerce.

"Remember the 80’s Cyndi Lauper hit song Girls Just Want to Have Fun? Although it was written over 30 years ago, I recently heard a cover version by Katy Perry, which led me to start thinking about the lyrics," said MetroWest Chamber of Commerce Presient & CEO Bonnie Biocchi.

“When the working day is done, girls just want to have fun” and it dawned on me ... that is what is missing in the lives of many of my lady friends. We are so busy developing our careers, networking with associates, caring for our families, shopping, cooking, cleaning and running errands, that there is very little time left for FUN.  With that in mind, we decided to organize a few ladies night’s out!  These are meant to be relaxed events focused on fun and friendship. While men may have TV, golf and the WWF (World Wrestling Federation”), we will have our own little relaxation niche - the WFF (Women's Fun Federation.)"

The premiere Women's Fun Federation was a Shop 'Til You Drop event at the Salvation Army Thift Store on Route 9 West in May.

More than 30 women socialized, shopped for bargains and competed for shopping medals - Best Accessory, Best Outfit under $20 and Most Fashionable

MetroWest Chamber of Commerce CEO Biocchi started the shopping off by modeling a wedding down off the racks at the Route 9 West Framingham thift store.
