The Ninety-Nine Restaurant and Pub held its grand opening in Framingham Tuesday night at 4. And about two hours later, the 99 was closed.

"The Framingham Ninety Nine made the decision to close due to unforeseen technical difficulties with equipment," said its publications relations firm.

The restaurant, located at 659 Worcester Road, is expected to re-open Wednesday.

Plumbing vehicles were parked outside the restaurant Tuesday night.

"My family and I just came home from the 99. They said that it was a dishwasher problem and there was excess water backed up,"said Samantha McCollom on Framingham Patch's Facebook page.

Other Framingham Patch readers texted us to tell us the bathrooms were closed and a few minutes later the restaurant was closed.

Some patrons were offered coupons to return another night, according to those who contacted and texted Framingham Patch.

"We had one of the buzzer ran to Staples came back to find doors locked and then were handed an envelope (which I still haven't opened) through the door," said Framingham Patch reader Lizzi Thorpe on our Facebook page. "I felt bad for them and super disappointed."
