AAA: Massachusetts Gas Prices 15 Cents Higher Than National Average

AAA Southern New England says gas prices are up 2 cents this week, and 8 cents this month.

Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are up two cents from last week, according to the latest survey from AAA Southern New England, which has an office in Framingham.

AAA’s Dec. 30th survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.46 per gallon, up two cents from last week. 

Prices locally are eight cents higher than a month ago.

The current price is 15 cents higher than the national average for self serve unleaded of $3.31. A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was five cents lower at $3.41.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 34 cents, from a low of $3.35 to a high of $3.69. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every trip-every time.
