AAA Says: Gas Prices Drop for First Time in 2012

Gas prices down two cents; average price in Bay State for self-serve regular is $3.719 per gallon.

Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are down two cents this week, the first dip in prices this year, according to a release from , which has an office in Framingham.

AAA’s March 12 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.719 per gallon, two cents less than a week ago and 15 cents higher than a month ago.

The current price is nine cents below the national average for self serve unleaded of $3.80.

A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $3.47.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 24 cents, from a low of $3.61 to a high of $3.85.
