AAA Says Gas Prices Up A Penny

AAA Southern New England's survey of gas prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.759 per gallon. A year ago, the average price was $2.66.

Gas prices in Massachusetts are up for the fourth straight week, this time by just a penny, according to a survey by AAA Southern New England, which has an office in Framingham.

AAA’s Aug. 1 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.759 per gallon, up one cent from a week ago.

The current price is five cents above the national average for self serve unleaded of $3.70.

A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $2.66.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 40 cents, from a low of $3.59 to a high of $3.99. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
