Blue Agave Mexican Grill is Open For Business

Despite the large "For Lease" sign out front, Blue Agave Mexican Grill is open for business, says its manager.

A "for lease" sign was placed in front of Blue Agave Mexican Grill on Route 30 in Framingham on Cinco de Mayo, of all days.

Since then rumors have been circulating that the restaurant, which began operating under the Blue Agave name in early 2013, had closed.

I stopped by the restaurant on Tuesday, and it was open for business; but there were few customers, likely due to the "For Lease" sign.

The manager said the owner of the building and the owner of the restaurant are having a disagreement over a new lease. The manager said the current lease does not end for a couple of months.

The manager said they are open, and had patrons on Mother's Day, but that it has been slow for them since the sign was posted.

Framingham Patch left a message for both the owner of the restaurant and the phone number on the for lease sign, and neither returned the calls.

Blue Agave is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The restaurant, next to the U.S. Post Office on Route 30, offers many authentic Mexican dishes, including Enchiladas with verde sauce, Carnitas, steak Fajitas, Chori Pollo, Tacos al Carbon, Burritos and more.

It has a bar fully stocked, and serves margaritas, sangria and Mexican sodas.

The restaurant has lunch special weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with most under $9.99.
