British Beer Company's Party Wins Best Place to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day

The British Beer Company's St. Patrick's Day celebration featuring corned beef and cabbage all day, Irish beer promotions at night and local band Pablo Palooza on stage easily won our contest this week.

Receiving 61 percent of the votes, the British Beer Company (BBC) had 205 votes.

The Route 9 restaurant opens at 11 a.m. tomorrow, March 17 and will be serving corned beef and cabbage all day, said area manager Shane Egan this morning.

"We will be holding a Guinness, Harp and Smithwick's beer promotion beginning at 7 p.m.," said Egan, who added they now have 35 beers on tap.

At 10 p.m. local band Pablo Palooza will take the stage until closing at 1 a.m. The band's following is one of the reasons for the BBC's win in the poll.

Egan said he was thrilled the British Beer Company won the poll, and added the BBC will open its 12th location in June in Manchester, NH.

, also will be serving corned beef and cabbage all day tomorrow, finished second with 10 percnt of the votes or 36 votes.

Having a Shamrock shake at McDonald's came in third.

Although it did not fare well in our poll, the PTO is holding a fundraiser March 17 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the . There will be Irish Step Dancers, Irish music and traditional boiled dinner, with cash bar. Tickets are $20 in advance by emailing Tiffany Duda at: tifduda@verizon.net. Tickets will be $25 at the door.
