Celebrate National Taco Day with Margaritas New Macho Taco

The Framingham Mexican restaurant offering an almost 2-pound taco today, and through the weekend.

To celebrate National Taco Day today (Oct. 4) Margaritas Mexican Restaurant will offer a big twist on the humble Mexican essential, and they call it the Macho Taco.

The Framingham restaurant, part of a 22-restaurant chain, will offer the “muy grande” meal for a limited time, today through Monday.

The edible colossus is hand-crafted, made-to-order and presented in the distinctive tongue-and-cheek Margaritas style. Appearing larger than life, the Macho Taco is made with a crispy 12-inch tortilla shell, and comes stuffed with lettuce, beans, Mexican rice, seasoned chicken, ground beef, pork carnitas, bacon, salsa fresca, cheese and jalapeños. Topped with crema, picante and hacienda sauces, this $8.99 super taco is worthy of its name.

“We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the big day than with a big deal,” said company President Hugo Marin in a press release. “And the Macho Taco is a big deal,” he said, smiling.

“The taco is a staple of the Mexican dining experience,” said Marin. “We offer several unique and delicious variations such as our Carne Asada Tacos and Tacos del Mar. What better way to celebrate National Taco Day than with the Macho Taco? It expresses our dedication to great tasting food, value and fun.”
