Best Sandwich Winner: CJ's Northside Grill

There were 375 votes cast, and CJ's Northside Grill won "best sandwich in Framingham" with 41% of the vote.

Receiving 157 votes in the contest, the Nobscot establishment offers breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Owner Chris Gagen encouraged his loyal customers to vote in the contest on the restaurant's Facebook page.

The restaurant is known for its roast beef sandwiches and its burgers.

Another favorite is "Superbird," which Gagen described as "Thanksgiving on a sandwich." It features rotisserie roasted turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce and a little bit of mayo."

Opened in June 2011, in the former Riley's Roast Beef location in the Nobscot section of Framingham, the restaurant features both table and counter seating. There is a replica of the Green Monster scoreboard from Fenway Park hand-painted by M-C Lamarre.

Burgers come single, double, triple and Monstah. For breakfast, customers can order eggs - single, double, triple, homer and even an "over the fence" omelet. There is french toast and pancakes and soon waffles, said Gagen.

Salads will be added to the menu in the spring, said Gagen. There is a children's menu. The full menu can be found on their website.

"I absolutely vote for The Tavern's steak n' cheese .... They have officially ruined every other steak n cheese in town! Not to mention very cost effect," wrote Christine Marley.
