Eastleigh Farm to Host Reception to Thank First Responders

Eastleigh Farm will honor first responders from the Framingham Fire, Police and Public Works departments Saturday, March 8.

The Eastleigh Farm family is holding a reception Saturday, March 8, to honor first responders, who rescued trapped cows after a barn roof collapse on Feb. 19.

"The heroic and tireless efforts of the members of the Framingham Fire Department, Police Department and Department of Public Works, while enduring frigid temperatures, saved the lives of many cows who were trapped under the debris from the fallen rooftop. The lives of many of our bovine ladies would have surely been lost had it not been for the Herculean efforts and professionalism of the first responders. All of us at Eastleigh
are eternally grateful to these people" said Eastleigh Farm owner Doug
Stephan.

A reception honoring first responders from the Framingham Fire, Police and Public Works department will be held Saturday, March 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Eastleigh Farm.

First responders and their families are invited to come visit the cows, tour the farm and enjoy refreshments.

Two cows died the day of the barn roof collapse. Since the collapse, two more cows have died, as a result of injuries that day.

But a few days after the death of the cows, a new calf was born at the farm.
