Fourth Cow Has Died At Eastleigh Farm

Support for the farm has come from across the Commonwealth, America and even outside the U.S., said Eastleigh Farm owner Doug Stephan.

A fourth cow has succumbed to injuries due to the barn roof collapse at Eastleigh Farm in Framingham last month.

Another four or five cows "are still in daily treatment and watch care," according to Eastleigh Farn. "The weather is making it difficult for them to recover."

Two cows died the day of the roof collapse, a third cow died that weekend.
But that same weekend, a new calf was born at the Edmands Road farm.

The weekend after the roof collapse Eastleigh Farm owner Doug Stephan posted an update on the cows on Framingham Patch.

He wrote: "Astounding would be one of the many words I would use to describe how all of us at Eastleigh feel about the outpouring of support which has come from our local community, around the state, the country, and yes, we have even had contributions to our fund from outside the country too."

One of those who came to support the farm was co-owner and COO of Jerry Remy's Sports Bar & Grill John Mascia.

Mascia, whose son, 8, loves Eastleigh Farms's milk, left two blankets for the cows. The blankets left were "used by my two Grand Prix horses and the third (blue) blanket was given to me for my very first Grand Prix win at Holyoke in 1993," Mascia told Stephan.

" I hope they keep your animals warm," he wrote Stephan.
